If I have a large bumper tuck, what difficulties are involved switching from large bumpers to the small bumpers?
2nd hardest thing is welding up the small holes the old rubber valence leaves on the back, in the quarter & just under the tail panel.
Hard is a relative term. I have done it and considered it fairly easy, but labor intensive. Welding and cutting metal is a must. But if you have the parts, its not that bad. I wrote a how to article back in 99 and several others have also posted their versions. They are all over this message board. BTW, where in DC do you live? I'm just NE of you. Assuming thats Washington DC.
Accokeek. You're less than an hour away - depending on traffic congestion. We'll need to get together some time!
If you get the parts to convert and you dont have the means to do it yourself, you can bring it here and I'll give you a hand.
I'm grateful for your offer, indeed! Currently, the '76 is a rolling chassis and going no where while the others are all in WA State. Will make some headway over the winter and hopefully can roll your way next spring. We can certainly meet in between - I'd love to see your two! Craig/Rick, what's in your warehouse for small bumpers/brackets?
I probably have the brackets but dont really have time to look for them until after I get back from the Roundup.
