Im stripping or atleast trying to strip the wheel well so i can repaint it but theres alot of dirt and grime layered on it. any ideas for some quick removal? maybe some crazy chemical lol?
spent countless hours removing the fender and underside junk, wouldnt be so bad had the previous body owner didn't fill every crevice with bondo as a rust preventive :16suspect media blasting = useless (unless its thin coating) wire wheel = works best but least fun gasoline = pretty good at cutting (bring plenty of rags) torch method (mentioned) = sounds best
I have to say that job he did with the peel away looked great. me, i used a torch and putty knife, then wire cup brush on my drill, then 3M undercoating. took less than a day. looks factory, cost was minimal(bought under coating at walmart), results are good. im happy!
LA's Awesome cleaner at the dollar store will get it all plus the undercoating. Plus you can't beat the price.
I think it's a dollar store brand but I have used it for years to get black streaks off my trailer, grease and grime off vertally anything. I even use it to remove rubber off my roadrace car. The stuff is Simple Green on steriods and a 160z bottle is only a buck. http://www.lastotallyawesome.com/
my wife use's that to get grease out of my jeans after working on my car. and i have used it to remove built up grime from an old engine block when my presure washer went down. Good stuff!
