does a disc brake set up for a 1971 mustang fit a 72 maverick?i want my son to have disc brakes and not front drums.my friend has a set and just want to make sure they will work.
i tryed doing a search here but cant find enough info on the spindel swaps.i would really like some help on this one.
I did a disc brake upgrade on my 72.. I used 75 Granada spindles and NAPA rotors and calipers and hoses. A 74 Granada MC (manual) Check in "tech archives" suspension. I listed all the parts and part #s I used. I do remember 71-73 Mustang suspension parts like the upper control arms and many other parts being the same so I wouldn't be surprised if the spindles would work. Granadas are more commonly junked and stripped for parts so maybe that's why nobody knows and isn't chiming in with that info.
Measure the spindles. The spindles on my 75 maverick have the same dimensions as the ones from my 66 Falcon project.
I heard about 73 Mustang disc on a '63 Falcon. Use 73 Mustang tie rods and pay big money for the rubber brake hose. Most Falcon guys use Maverick/Granada spindles
