I read the tech article about whats needed to convert to a floor shiftier . With regards to the floor all I need to do is cut a hole in the tunnel to mount a factory shiftier ? Is there another mount I need ? If so what is it ?

There is a plate that mounts over the opening in the tunnel... I'll guess there have been many installs by cutting a hole just large enough to mount shiftier(factory hole under plate is like 10"x 12")...

When I converted my car to a floor shift I used the original floor shifter out of a 75 parts car I had, their was a hump that goes over the hole and is flat on the top

That's what I was wondering about . Now how does that mount to the floor ? Would somebody have a pic of how that mounts to the factory tunnel ?

You don't need that. There is an outline on your floorpan for where to cut the hole. You can get (or make) a plate with tapped machine-screw threads to mount the shifter. I've even seen it done by using sheet metal screws directly through the floorppan, which works fine but is not as ideal as the mounting plate with machine threads.

More or less it only properly fits on the tunnel one way... Opening is cut within a inch of the mounting screws...

I'd take pict of my parts car it came from but it's now been cut out to go in a '70 that had smaller tunnel...

I used the front seam as a reference point. There is a reinforcement strip that you should drill just below it.
