    Hi all!

I'm trying to track down the issue with my dome light in my 74. I finally figured I was done with under dash stuff, so I put a bulb in my dome light. It worked for about two drives. I found the black/ light blue wire, and checked continuity, which I have from the dome light area to under the dash, where it hits some sort of two terminal connector. from there it looks like it goes to the headlight switch. I went ahead and replaced the headlight switch, and still same issue. fuses all seem to check out.

The door switches work, and they have voltage. I've been looking at the diagrams, and it looks like the key buzzer is somehow in that loop as well. it's always been intermittent.

anyone got any ideas? also, where is the key buzzer located?

If you have power on the black/blue wire, likely problem is socket or it's ground.

The blue/ black goes to a connector, and it didn’t seem to have power there. Fingers crossed it’s not some kind of issue with the headlight switch wiring, cause that’s a really tight squeeze.

Troubleshoot the easy stuff first, verify voltage on the light green/yellow wire.

Should be power at both door switches.

I jumpered some power and the dome light works.
then I checked and I have continuity from the blue / black on the headlight switch to the dome light. So, somehow power is not going there they the switch.

Now I don’t have power at the door switches. . Ugh. I did find the buzzer…

Will keep chipping away at it over the week.

    Update-

I went through the circuit again, and I have continuity but no voltage in the dome light circuit.

I also have continuity from the green/ yellow wires to the dome light, when the headlight switch is turned to the dome light.

What I don’t have is power to the green/yellow wires. All my guest are good, and everything else in the headlight circuit is working.

I’m thinking my next step is to tie some power in to the green/yellow circuit from elsewhere and test it. I’ve done so with the black / blue and the light worked.

I think the key buzzer issue might be in the ignition switch. I’m not too hung up on the buzzer, but if it’s a simple fix I’d like to have it working.

I will probably take the steering wheel apart and change out the turn signal cam, and also see if I can figure out the key buzzer situation.

I could also change out the high beam switch. I know they can cause myriad problems, but it doesn’t seem to be tied in to this circuit.

The only other thing I’m thinking at the moment, is that there is this factory connection that has blue/ black and green/yellow in it, on two terminals, and that’s where the wire from the dome light that travels up the a pillar connects. My guess is that there would be a second wire if my car had come factory with the upgraded dome light.
How tough is it to snake another wire up there? Can I connect two wires to the existing and pull them thru???
