I just found an awesome Maverick...it is now home with me!! I found this car in the paper and jumped on it. It was advertised as a 1970 Maverick for sale and that is about all it said. I immediately called the guy and told him I would take it, no I didnt need to look at it for the price. Anyway, I showed up gave him the money and about had a heart attack once I looked at the car. It is a TOTALLY rust free car (ok..maybe a little surface rust here and there but that is it) and only has 2 minor dents...probably wont even need filler to fix them. The grille is perfect the rear bumper has some pitting on it but not bad. The front bumper has a little twist in it that will probably come out fine. Head liner is perfect....the rest of the interior is pretty dry rotted so I will have to replace a good part of it. The motor and tranny seem to work great, it is an I6 with a 3 speed. I pulled the head and the motor looks like it was either rebuilt not long ago or someone took excellent care of it, no sludge and no lip on the cylinder wall...super clean inside. Only problem with the car is that it is not a grabber. Oh well, you cant have it all. :) The morale to the story is, dont give up hope there are still good cars out there to find and fix. I had to share this, I am thrilled with the car, it is going to be my daily driver for now......
