Does anyone know where to purchase the Chrome looking plastic trim on the Door Panels on some Mavericks. See pic below. I suspect it would come in rolls. Thanks,

Originally that was myler vacuum formed to the plastic trim. The trim was then hot glued or whatever to the door panel ....

I'm not aware of anyone yet who has successfuly restored it with decent looking results. I have in the past masked it off and painted it with metallic paint and it didn't look too bad. I've also tried to apply the adhesive backed foil that model car builders use from chrome on their models. Look OK but hard to get all the wrinkles out and still doesn't look factory.

    Good luck ...

Thanks Dan. Just bought my son a Red 71 Grabber similar to yours. We are reupholstering it & wondering what to do about that plastic trim. The car didn't need new upholstery but he wanted Buckets & I had an extra LDO front & rear seats. I think we may just do a Welt Cord around that Black insert on the door panel. Your car is his role model. I will post pics of the Interior as soon as it's done.

Sounds like a nice project. SMS Fabrics should have the Comfortweave insert material if you want to try and match the rear seat ... They had my black ... I'm guessing they should have the red as well ...

Thanks for the info Dan. The interior is Red & we are just going with solid red vinyl. We are using black thread for the stitching & black welt cord for some contrast. The carpet & dash are black so I think that should blend it all together. We hope so anyway.
