Like Terry said . you can not be picky when getting Maverick door panels ... find the nicest condition set you can in the style you want and don't worry about the color .. just paint them the color you need ....

I needed black as well .. but found a mint set of blue and painted them ...

Post here, search eBay, go to junk yards. One of the first things that a Maverick owner must realize is that for most parts you can't just pick up a phone or catalog and then have it a couple of days later. Take for example, a Grabber hood, I know there have been folks looking for years to get one and still don't have one. Door panels should be a lot easier so just keep an eye out on the board for guys parting out cars. 73-77 door panels will fit your car ... My panels came from eBay .. although I am looking for a set of wood grain panels for my 74 and have had no luck ... :(

If you have no luck in finding a nice set, you might take the ones that I assume you already have to an upholsterer. He/she may remake them entirely or recover what you have with some nice material with stitching in custom or original style. Many other
types of cars have to go this route as well.
It may even end up being cheaper than buying a good set depending on the price to recover.
I paid $85 for 1 NOS door panel and I cannot find the matching mate.

Margandc; if you go to Lowe's or Home Depot, get some 1/8" hardboard or masonite, cut out the door panel and make your own. I did that, with some foam and a bit of imagination, and they don't look too bad. Not original, but either is the car!

not a bad idea at all. How much did all that cost? Also what material did you cover it with??

Margandc; I paid about $6 for the hardboard (4X8 sheet), and about $7 for the adhesive. I used the material I had on my seats for the door panels. That has changed, and now I might recover them or make new ones to go with the new seats. It is easy. Get some high density foam, the thin stuff, and you can pad the panel, and make designs in it if you like. Good luck!
