I finished up the body work on the driver side by smoothing out the rocker panel. While that was curing I started on the paint. My first test panel was the driver side fender .... here she is ... looks better with no trim and no holes .... I should have the rest finished tomorrow ... if I have enough paint left over from when I did the hood. I'm gonna have to order more to do the passenger side of the car .... I had to get it in the garage quick but not quick enough ... there is a gnat forever imbedded in the fender ...
I post lots of pictures in an effort to motivate others ... All my work is done in my driveway so nobody has any excuse not to gitterdun!
Yup .. that's my Ford Red 250 with the Chrome valve cover ... gonna install over the Thanksgiving holiday ..
Thanks all for the compliments ... I hope it looks as good during the day as it does at night (somehow I doubt it). I just checked my inventory and I should have enough paint to finish the driver side. I just ordered more paint for the passenger side. The passenger side of the car is perfectly straight so all I need to do on that side is close the holes. I'll have it all smooth and prepped by the time the paint shows up next week ... I'm confident it will all look nice enough for a sunny day driver or casual cruise-in car ... I don't see it winning any trophies at a car show ... except the round-up since everyone gets one there!
Put the Mav out in the sun to let the new paint bake for a while. It ended up blending very nicely ... Thanks for the tip about blending it up to the pinstripe. I've decided I will be removing the pinstripe on the 1/4 panel since I feel it will not look good once I put the chrome trim and vinyl top on. Gonna leave the one from the headlight to the door handle ... I also had to fix the rear of the 1/4 panel where the original owner had backed into a pickup truck ...
Dan; looking good. I agree about removing the pinstripe. Still don't know about the vinyl top, but I'm sure it will look good.
