Hey, I have a question about RWD drag racing with slicks. Do I need a driveshaft loop if I'm running slicks, and if so, Why do I need a loop?
Prevents the front of the driveshaft from pole-vaulting the car if the front u-joint breaks. With the extra traction using slicks, it is more likely to happen than using street tires.
Sweetness, I'm used to dragging with FWD cars (damn hondas) so thats kinda new to me, Also, Where car I find a loop? Or do I need to fab one?
Summit racing, Jegs. Some of the universal types need mods to fit right. Check the rules -- supposed to be mounted with a certain distance of the front u-joint.
Yes, But this one will work too and will save few bucks... it must be mounted about 6" from the front U joint. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G7900/
That's the one I have. It fit good after I cut the last two sets of holes on the L-brackets off so they would fit up into the trans tunnel. I may have mounted it a a few inches too far back where the tunnel is smaller, but just a heads-up in case you get it and it doesn't want to fit.
bizkit, what kind of fwd cars did you drag race with. i did not know there was such a class. i wonder if they do it here? kind of like to get into it.
There is no front wheel drive class at Tucson, but they are having street legal drag races this Friday night at SIR.
I used to race an 11 sec. 91 Honda CRX at Rocky Mountain Raceway in Salt Lake City, nothing professional and that was 2008? yeah, that was the last time
