I finally had a chance yesterday to drive the Mav some more. Since I changed the step-up springs, I had only driven it once. So yesterday, my old buddy from MSU (who used to help me thrash the car on the streets when I lived down there) came up to see me. We decided we'd take the car out for a little while. Got it cranked and warmed up and then eased down the road aways before opening it up. Still some hesitation down low but GOOD GRIEF....once I get above 2500 this thing HAULS! I was in 1st and started into a small curve on the parish road. The land is clear-cut all around, so I could see there was nothing coming. I matted it, and it set up and smoked the 275/60R15 all the way around the curve. Got straightened back out and hit it again. It's so responsive now that it'll take some getting used to. It now pulls hard all the way to the rev limiter. I'm gonna try to tune it some more and get the slight stall out of the low end, but man oh man, what a difference! I was THRILLED. I looked at my buddy and he said "it never ran like this in Lake Charles....you've gotta bring it back!" Just wanted to share the joy! Y'all take care!

Was DEFINITELY fun! I hadn't smiled in this car in awhile due to the carb issues. I couldn't get it to do ANYTHING. Now that I've got that taken care of, I can get back to puttin' miles on it!
