You guys (and gals) are going to get sick of my reassembley questions! How does one get the gas cap to line up vertical? Do I remove the five or six screws behind the cap and rotate? Or do I need to remove the filler neck? Does this ? make sense? Scott
You cannot "rotate" the filler neck. It only goes one way. You may need to replace the gas cap. It should be verticle...
The hold down on the back of the gas cap is held on with a large rivet. Apparantly yours has spun. Spin it back until the gas cap looks correct when installed.
the only dumb qwestion is an unasked qwestion i had the same problem i just replaced my cap. pluss just like te bumpers the gas caps only fit certan years like 71-73 then 74-77.
