Anyone yanking the fronts WITHOUT a tranbrake? Is it possible without the sudden shock of the brake disengaging (or is it engaging?)? I always thought it would be cool to do but don't want the force of a t-brake on my tranny.

not a problem. just depends on power, trans setup, suspension. knew a guy back in the 80's with a nat record holding camaro with a power glide that he footbraked. left with the wheels 2 feet off the ground. people were suprised when he said he had no trans brake. some cars actually hit the converter harder and go quicker without a transbrake. go to a divisional race sometime. all those stockers that leave showing off the oilpan arent allowed a transbrake in their class. any well set up automatic running low 12's or quicker can probably do it.

I've never had a problem getting the front tires off the ground with just foot braking the car. WAIT that's all I have is foot brake!

I'm not in the air like Stephen's but I can do about a foot with a 1.36 sixty foot.

After re-viewing the video, it doesn't look like my brake lights are on but I swear I was foot-breaking. I told myself before that pass that it didn't really matter what happened that it was probably gonna just spin like crazy.....I guess I was wrong.....the little tires don't like the t-brake very much.

I do it on every run. Footbrake only....I have run the transbrake with the electronics, but I found that it was SOOO easy to launch on the button that it really wasn't fun. Besides, I'd have had to tone down the 4 link a little bit to keep the rear bumper off the track. Best 60 with 'brake was 1.32. Best footbrake was 1.282 (3/26/06).

'course if I really wanted to put on a show, I could move the 4 link bars a little. If I wanted to leave flat, I'd move 'em the other way a little. It ain't THAT hard.

Oh, and NO nitrous, blowers, or any other power adders. 100% motor and until I can afford a tube chassis hot rod, it'll stay that way.
