Whew! It's been a long day.

    Reader's Digest version: 1st run=313RWHP. Last run = 350RWHP.

Got at Strictly Performance at 9:00 - unloaded the car, chatted with Scooper and Anna a bit, then put the car on the dyno.

The first run was without a chip (Diablo Chipmaster). Results: 313RWH. The "Torque" part of the data acquisition wasn't functioning. Figuring more hp = more torque, it wasn't that big of a deal. I just wanted to optimize what I had and a HP reading would do it.

After adjusting timing, fuel pressure, replacing the old chip (apparently I fried it at some point) and tuning the new one AND taking the 6000 rpm limit pill outta the MSD, the A/F mixture was clean all the way through the rpm range. The last two pulls were within 3 hp (347 & 350) - so there was no need to go anymore.

I'm pleased with the results. Afterall, the engine was built to be a streetable engine (relatively small cam and low compresion). The car starts and idles fine and no back-firing, spitting and sputtering that was going on before during WOT.

I also learned I need to move my shift light up to about 6K.

    Next stop? Nitrous.

(I 'might' be going to the track tonight - will update later)

I didn't take a lot, but hey, it is just a car sitting still, making a CRAPLOAD of noise, in a small tin building :D

I just LOVED the look on Ricks face (probably the same look was on mine) when the guy revved it up to 6200rpm. I have never heard a Mav go that high, and I don't think Rick ever heard his go that high. Anna jumped back expecting rods and chunks of oilpan to come at her

I have revved mine to almost 7k just to see if it would blow up. :evilsmile need a reason to build a 331 or 393w. A couple broken valve springs but nothing let loose yet.

Rick Great numbers. What's your combo? If I remember it was 302 based stroker. I'm waiting on the track time results. Hurry up already:D

I'd bet your face looked about like mine when ours hit 8 once:yikes: ...:D

I kept it down to under 7 most times after that, but they sure sound nice up high (y)

Yes, my eyes did get big as saucers when I heard the ol' Maverick rev to 6200 r's. He took it to 6400 on about the third run. More  from me. Yes, I was thrilled that no pistons went flying through the roof.

The combo is a 347 stock block. AFR185 heads. I'm not sure what the compression is. The cam in a small street cam. Holley Systemax II intake. 32Lb injectors. 75MM MAF and ? TB. MSD 6AL. Aeromotive 1000 Fuel Pump. 6908(?) Hooker SuperComp 1-3/4" Long Tube headers in to 3" Dynomax then dumped out (jaheez that thing is loud!)

I couldn't wait. I took it to the track tonight. See my other post.

PS. Thanks for taking the pictures, Scott. I think I might've taken a couple. Sorry guys, no video. :(

edit for bluegene: I had to buy a new chip. The one I had was fried. It was only hitting on 7 cylinders. Five dyno pulls. Hooked up the transbrake and line lock switches and wired the 2-step with a 3k pill = total $675.

 Good stuff Rick...it's good to know the numbers...sure helps to know how to set the car up for the track...I'd sure like to get mine on a dyno at least once...my shift point is 7200...at 7600 it doesn't have anymore to give...I have taken it to 9000 on a burnout...the first time we took it to the track after putting the pop-tops in it. The builder comes running back to the pits after the pass cussin a blue streak...he forgot to put the limiter back in it:rofl:
