For those of you who really like that chrome like shine on the front end, here is an easy tip for your head light trim rings. Get a can of lacqure thinner and some towels. Pull those trim rings off and rub off all the gray/paint and/or what ever else is on there. Take some Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish and polish those puppies out. Through them back on and dont let your wife know that you like your cars front end better then her's. You can take it a step further which is what I am going to do, and make them look so good you would think they were chromed. Find your self a polishing shop that knows aluminum and have them strip the anodizing off the aluminum and have them polished out the aluminum to a mirror finish. Oh yeah, do the front hood trim too, oh yeah baby.
Re: easy to do and it looks ... Hey Mavaholic, Can you please post a photo of the headlight trim rings in body color? I would like to see how that looks. Thanks, BaldEagleMav

Jesus, I've been stripping off the anodized finish by HAND on all my aluminum/stainless trim... yeah... it took a combined 30 hours on the taillight bezels, which had also been bent to hell. Here's how my stubborn ass did it: step 1: straighten with block of wood and hammer step 2: block with 300 grit sandpaper and listen to classic rock step 3: scrub with 600 grit sandpaper until you're blue in the face step 4: get a handful of 00 steel wool, and polish away step 5: get another handful of 0000 steel wool and resume the rock. step 6: polish with medium grit compound step 7: polish with fine grit compound on a dremel Well, if you've got beer to drink and a wife to avoid, I guess it's a good investment of time... it's the loooooong way of makin' it look like chrome
Acetone works very well at removing the paint on the bezels, and does not do anything to the anodization.
