Guys its not that simple. You need to study the whole EFI operation before you try to do it or you will meet up with a lot of frustration.
Here is an overview: Hi pressure fuel system with two lines, oxygen sensors in the exhaust, larger alternator, move battery to trunk, firewall to spring tower braces replaced, shorty headers, wiring and a buch of other things to finish the job out.
One of the situations you will get to, is that you become the expert on the car. No other shop will touch it if and when there is a problem.
Not trying to talk you out of it, just want you to know there is much more to it. Loo k at my sig.

Are you telling me I have to replace the firewall to spring tower braces cause of the EFI intake ?? Great more fun.
Where do I get them ?
    Thanx

Yes, the left rear of the intake will interfer. They can be made from 1" sq. tube with flat stock ends shaped to the right angle for the fire wall and attached to a spring tower bolt on the other end. You must understand, you are doing a major re-engineering job with projects of this sort. Another item is, there is no room for power brakes,if one now has that option. The AOD trans requires an extension onto the present crossmember. Floor shift for room to get the header pipes through.
Be sure you want and can handle this kind of job. The car will be out of use for some time.

Another way to get by the old "intake not clearing the braces" problem is to buy the elbow that adapts the throttle body to a standard square-bore intake manifold. You still have to have the manifold drilled for the injectors and occasionally the sensors, but from what I understand, it works better than the factory efi manifolds do. That way you can keep the tower braces, yet still have EFI.

    Another EFI mav breathes life

    K. Merring, I thought I would let you know that the efi is running as of 2:00pm EST 9Jul 2002. Thanks for all of your help! Peter, the transplant is possible but you must be patient. I spent many hours looking through wiring diagrams and wiring. I still had to call Ford Racing to run down a problem. I missed the crank-on TFI connector and the check engine light which is necessary for the computer self test! I suggest you buy the EFI harness installation guide from Ford Racing and then decide if you want to make the switch. It shouldn't cost more than 10 bucks and it is worth every penny. I tried to post a pic but it is too large. Ward

Ward, nice to here you got the project well under control. It is difficult to help long distance as you know.
I am a moderator on one Lincoln board and and post help on another, so do it everyday for the Mark 7 cars. I get into air ride suspension, ABS brake systems, charging problems, EFI and the whole range. All the best to you and the family.
Drop by Lincolnsonline and see how we do on that board. Handle is Bluegrass, you won't mistake my style of posting .;) :D
