Putting in a electric fan. Everything is wired up, relay, circuit breaker, etc., with the exception of the ignition source. Not being to fond of electricty, I need to know a good ignition source under the hood; or do I have to wire it somewhere behind the dash.

My power supply comes from the starter solenoid.

My power is also from the solenoid, but I need to know where to hook up the "key ignition source". Instructions say to hook up the remaining grey wire to an ignition source.

You can use the elec choke wire if you don't run one of those. There aren't too many wires under the hood that give a 12v keyed source that you can tie into. You probably could get it from the ignition module. I would run a new wire (fused) to the back of the fuse box.

Looks like I'll be going this route. Thanks, back to the garage. By the way, the wife says she's thinking of putting a bed out there for me; why not the fridge and tunes are out there :drink:

I have mine wired hot all the time and looped through a thermostat. That way when I park, the fan will continue to run until its cooled down. I have the ground wire looped through a toggle switch on the dash so I can cut it off should the need arise.

Is there a keyed ign source on the fuse block that isn't being used. Craig has my fuse block now, so I can't go look. I know on my old firebird I could put a male spade connector in the the fuse to run things like the radio and amp and stuff. It had a spare B+ and a spare IGN.

Went ahead and ran it to the fuse box, but with all the other new electrical items I placed, I'm now having a starting problem, see charging system thread.

If all it does is turn on a relay, I would just run it off the same wire as the radio.
