i had my mav on the charger for a while at 10 amps. took it off for the night came out the next day and turned the key and "nothing" happened. no dash lights, no dome light, nothing

all the connections were in good shape under the hood so i didnt know what to think

i finally got a 9v bat for my meter and tested the battery. 2.9v...
i put it back on the charger. 10 mins later its still 2.9v. and just to check the reliability of the meter i put it on my comet. 12.58v.

so i checked the leads on the battery charger that looks to be about 2x my age. VERY low out put of both voltage and amps. i forget the actual number off hand

im guessing this charger went bad and sent a few too many amps through the car and burned something out.

could it be as easy as a fuse in the box? where should i look first?

but wit almost 3v i would still expect to see the dome light or alt light when i hit the key or open the door

but either way thats going to be my next step

You got a dead battery. 3 volts ain't gonna do nothing to a 12 volt light bulb

Are your battery terminals and cable ends clean??? Sounds like you have something pulling on the battery draining it.Or you have a battery with a few dead cells.Swap battery out and see what happens.Make sure you didnt leave anything on in the car also...Dome lights/radio etc...Good luck Tony.
