I have no idea what to say about this clip other than it shows Emerson Fittipaldi (famous Gran Prix driver) in 1973, driving a '72 Maverick on a roadcourse while "The Winner Takes it All" plays in the background.

The only real action is at the end when he cuts a few donuts. It really shows how the Maverick was NOT set up for handling!

My research (imdb.com) indicates that Fittipaldi did a film in 1973 called "Fabuloso Fittipaldi, O" in Brazil. I assume it has some relation to that movie.

I translated the describing text but am still a little confused.

"Emerson Fittipaldi, bi champion of the F-1, driving a Maverick 1972 in the old sketch of Intelagos of little more of 8km. The sound is not the original one of the film."

Nothing a set of subframe connectors and bigger sway bars couldn't help. After all, the '66 Mustang did okay in Trans-Am racing. :drive:

I looked at an old high school yearbook last week, we actually wore our hair like Emerson's and those who could, had the big sideburns. On the agony. :slap:

I agree - that, lower it, and replace the springs with much stiffer ones.

Ha! I could never do the sideburns. I had the hair. Not a lot of difference than what some of the younger kids are doing these days now.

That must have been a prototype or very early production Brazilian Maverick as they only began selling them in 1973. The car in the vide also has a tach on the dash.
