i purchased a bunch of ES bushings/parts for the front end of my car and today i finally installed the dust covers on the tie rods and couple other things, the OEM covers have a small metal ring that almost pops over the base and holds it on..these ES ones appear "hokey" to me as they just press on easily with my hands. Anyone had issues with them not actually keep the dust/sand/dirt out?

Also my car has near new upper ball joints, is it possible to get new boots for them? one of mine is ripped but the ball joint itself is in great condition, i was on there website and nothing came up for ford maverick upper BJ boots, just the whole assembly. if i got to get a new one no big deal just figured a $5 boot is better than a 35 dollar BJ

I tried several years ago to just find "boots" for my upper ball joints. I could not find any that fit and replaced the entire ball joint.
