Since the shortblock is in the shop I wanted to clean up the compartment a little. Can someone post a pic of the area around the master cylinder? I am at a loss as to that area and it looks a bit messy. Also, where are you running the wires on the opposite side, alternator, coil etc.. Thanks Scotty P
    CURRRENT...

Scott, I have a 1974 Comet. I redone the total engine compartment, I ran all the wires into the inner fender whell:huh: Then back into the engine compartment through the front. I also put in a tack, temp.and oil pressure guages under the dash. doing this done away with all of these wires that went to those old units running in weird places. The alternator and other wires that goes to the other side I ran along under the raidator to the other side. That hides them pretty well. Dean

sorry I do not have any way todo photo's. All I did is drill a hole in the fender well where the wires plug into the back of the fuse box. Then I ran them in the finder well. and back into the front of the car.

Jean ... Did you clearcoat all your painted parts in the engine compartment?

Yep. The aircleaner and valve covers were painted with engine paint and then they were clearcoated with PPG 161 urethane. We did the same thing with the Stallions engine parts too.

Looks awesome ... was wondering why yours looked so much better than mine. Guess I have another project now! :) Did you clear over the decals?

Thanks Dan. I forgot to mention the black engine parts were clearcoated too. It takes a while to do, but sure looks nice when it's all put back together. The decals were applied over the clearcoat instead of being cleared over.

Jean Doll, that is a beautful engine and bay.
Hey Dan, look at the front of the right valve cover and you can see the reflection of the person taking the picture. lol

Has anyone relocated their fuse block under the driver's fender?
I need to do a total rewire and want the block hidden... My uncle suggested moving the block a few inches over so that the outer portion was under the fender. Doesn't look like it would take much, but then I just glanced at the area.

I don't intend to hi-jack the thread, I just thought I would 'enrich' it with an idea and see if anyone else thought about it. :)

    Dave
