    Hi Comet,

On my buddy's '79 'stang we used regular automotive paint and primer. Seemed to work good. One trick you might try is waxing the engine compartment before re-installing the engine. This makes removing any dirt a lot easier.

On my Maverick we used regular primer-surfacer and satin black automotive paint. Just remember one thing: the engine compartment MUST be oil and grease free before painting. A good quality degeaser or cleaner and some good oldfastioned elbow grease ( no pun intented) will do the trick.

used regular old primer (gray) and good old splater paint... aka trunk paint. you also have to clear coat the stuff becuase its not waterproof. looks cool but also get dirty very fast.. so if your car leaks oil or blows it.. don't expect it to look nice for very long.

i get just as much questions about the paint as the car itself.

    Maverick Man,

Wow! That is an awesome looking engine compartment!

Looks like you could eat off that engine. :D

anyone try usuing that spray on truck bed liner on the engine compartment?? i like the splatter paint idea, but the spray on bed liner might be a better choice and easier to clean..

    i may try it
