Hi, I’m new here and from Norway. I have a -70 Maverick. One of the earlier owners have done a very bad 302 conversion with homemade engine mounts. Can’t use them cause the engine isn’t mounted straight (slightly leans to the passenger side). I have done a search on the topic, and if I have understood this right, the best part to use with headers is frame and motor mounts from 65-70 Mustang. But is it possible to use engine cross-member from Mustang as well? Since I Live in Norway the Maverick is a very rare car and spare parts does not exist, but we have a lot of Mustangs… There is some pictures of my cars in the album Any answers will be appreciated
To my knowledge the mustang mounts wont work.. You have to use the V8 mounts for a Mav.or Comet(70 thru 77) they are for sale lots of time on Evil-bay and or thru some1 on this board. I have a set of stang mounts and they are not the same in appearance but I have not tried to use them as I have the proper ones in car.. Hope this helps and maybe someone has used mustang mounts, dont know .TTFN RON
mustang motor mounts didnt work for me either , but other wise good looking car oh yeah and welcome to the board
Don't tell my Maverick that. It's had '66 Mustang 289 motor mounts for over 32 years now. The Mustang mounts are taller, bolt them directly to the frame horns without using frame mounts. Put 1" spacers between the mounts and the engine block.
