Got the engine in, torque converter, er, torqued, tranny bolted up, just got to hook up all the other junk. You know, the stuff that makes it run. Fuel line, electrical, radiator, starter, headers... Dad got over and we faught with it before figuring out how to line it all up on the hoist, Anna ran the jack up and down, Dad worked the top, I got underneath and held up the tranny with my chest while lining it all up and starting bolts. Sent dad home and now I get to finish the rest up alone. Anna is getting some beer while I take a little break. Wanted to throw a big THANK YOU out to all of you guys for the encouragement, hints, and suggestions along the way
OK--OK guys!!! Here ya go. Only have one header on so far, taking a beer/lunch break. Other header goes on and then drop the engine off the hoist and bolt it to the mounts.
Okay, the pics look good... Now where is today's ER story? Keep it up. Next we need vids of the burnout! Better yet, your wife doing another burnout!
Congrats! I know the feeling of looking at an empty engine bay for too long and how good it feels to fill it.
Fingers are all still on. Not even a scratch (knocking on wooden desk) but I am nowhere near done yet. It is already 3:15pm here so I don't think I will be able to start it today. I will work into the dark, but I still have to put the radiator in, and run all the electrical and fuel system. I don't want to crank it up too late at night. Maybe 8pm at the latest. Otherwise I will just wait until tomorrow mid-morning. Coming along good though, and looks much nicer than the old one. Helps that everything was cleaned and engine and bay were painted...
