I have been trying to lacate the vin number location on a 302. I know where it is on a 351, but have not been able to locate it on a 302. I have a 289 out of a '67 Cougar, a 302 out of a '72 Comet, and another one out of an '83 Cougar. Can anyone help?

there is a flat spot on block at the rear of the intake manifold. It's about 1in x 3in.that is where my VIN is located for the block. Hope you can find it.:hmmm:

Thanks for the replies. The '67 has no marking in the flat place mentioned. I plan to pull the engine/trans out of the '72 gold GT tomorrow, so I will check it out then.

I pulled the engine/trans today on the gold Comet GT. The vin # was just where you said it would be and it is #'s matching to the car.

The '67 doe not have a flat spot like this behind the manifold, only a long slot similiar to the short one on top of the '72 engine.

    Anyway, thanks again.
