I was measuring out "stuff" for the rear suspension I am building and things did not look right......... I sat back for a few minutes and then it dawned on me I forgot to level the car I felt like such a tard......... Oh well many long nights left......
You aint the lone ranger on that one. I do stuff like that all the time. If you can laugh it off, then you are okay. If you get in an argument with yourself over it, then that is bad. Sounds like a normal day in the garage to me. Dan
Dan, John wasn't the only guy to find his Maverick Mojo in Joplin Ms..... I have been tearing into it like a rabid wolverine...... I was inspired by every car that attended.... I have bee coming along with that laugh at yourself and everything mentality....... No point in always being pissed off
What 3 link rear are you going with. Judging by Rayjuns car, a tri 4-bar or plain 4-bar will not work without taking the rear seat out. I wont use the rear seat myself but would rather not loose it either. I was looking at the TCI 3-link. I thought it would work without modding the car too much. What is your experience. http://www.totalcostinvolved.com/TCI_Mustang.pdf
while that might work in my case it would not.... i am using a watts linkage to center the axle instead of a pan hard bar.... that stuff is kind of bulky..... I am making everything myself. To be as light and simple as possible. Unsorung weight is the road racers enemy if I was not using the watts linkage I may have ran the top link toward the back of the vehicle. However in my case I will need to cit out the rear trans tunnel Make a 180 bend weld it i and attach some support joints..... I am making mine adjustable so I can play with different pinion angles and the such..... my car wont be for driving every day..... Im deleting the wipers etc....
Why cant you have a tri 4-bar and keep your rear seat? I installed a tri 4-bar in my car and I still have my rear seat. granted the top bars are short but no shorter than a fox body mustangs.
This assumption was made based upon another post using a mustang bolt in kit. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=46723 What kit did you use or did you go with all custom/modified kit. I'm looking for rear suspension options with as little fab to be done as possible. My current leaf setup and ride height does not allow for much suspension travel or traction.
I bought a kit from another member (AussieBJ) that he was going to use in his build but never did. I dont know where the kit came from. But I had to do some narley fab work to get it to where it would have the correct travel and not bind. I had to shorten the upper arms alot. I had to redrill and re-tap one end of the bars. Had to fab an upper crossmember from frame rail to rail so I would have something solid for the upper arm brackets to mount too. It was ALOT of work. I finally got the mav over to our new place so I will try and take some pics this weekend. If I where to do it again. I would go the mini truck bars and brackets I thought about using in the first place!
Travis please post pics!!!!!!!! I love it there is more of us on the same page lately.... Lets make our mavs ride the rails!!!! Lance
been there, still doing that heck, thats why I take so many breaks......not tired of working, tired of back tracking; I found that the more breaks I take, just sitting and looking things over, I figure things out.......so actually, when I think I am working, I am actually on break cause I usually ain't getting nothing done
I'm going to be using a Watts link in mine also along with a 4 link set up. I bought the parts for the Watts pivot from Coleman. I used this in an oval track car and the driver said that it was the most stable car he had ever driven.
