Well I thought I'd make a build thread on my car seeing as now I have most of the parts to have my car on the road. It used to be an IHRA B/SM Drag car, with a high-revving boss motor with a 4-speed. It's got 4.88 gears, steel tubs, a 12-point cage, sitting on cragar supertricks with 13.5x31 slicks on the back with untouched shock towers, leaf-springs, and ladder bars. My goal is to make it a street car again, but occasionally race it. As far as the current drivetrain set-up we have a 347 H.O. block with forged internals, Pro-Comp 190cc intake heads, an Edelbrock dual-plain air gap manifold, .531 lift hyd. roller crower cam, backed with a C-4 built by Don Walsh. We're still not sure exactly what carb we're going to run and we'll probably have to have headers custom-fabricated for it because of the exhaust port size on the heads we have for it (Might just get ones to run through the holes in the fenderwells that had been cut out for the boss motor that was in it.) Eventually I'd like to have it running in the 10's but we'll see what it does when we piece it together...

Here's what it looked like when we first bought it

Nice project, really cool to have an ex-drag racer.

Great looking car and nice "back to the streets" project :thumbs2:

Other than loosing the rear seat for good, everything else looks like it should retrofit back for street use :)

@ Starsky74, I'm honestly not exactly sure, I'll have to check that out and what's funny is Oldrodders car raced in the same class as mine, and there's a few other members (whose names I have forgotten) who have very similar cars, someone has Arlen Fadely's B/SM car ,and someone else on here has Rickie Smith's "Country Shindig" Super Modified Maverick. We're just about a converter away from having everything we need to have it moving...

Very cool indeed! Do you ever just feel like jumping in your ride and going to see someones project? That's the only bad thing about this forum. It makes you feel like you know someone, and you catch yourself wanting to go see them, or check their project out, or just to say what's up. Michigan is quite a ways from eastern N.C.:tiphat:

I have always liked this car from the first pic i saw of it.One of the few cars that brown actually suits!
Whats interesting is that i have never seen that motor mount bolt pattern on a windsor series engine before.Almost looks like the 429/460 mount pattern

You should scan and post the mini article that Hot Rod did on your car! Its a really cool story on how you got the car :)
