Ok, I have done searches on this issue and found lots of responses on it, but never any PICS. I have read that it can be done if the muffler shop knows what they are going. It's the issue of clearance for the exhaust pipe on the drivers side between the leaf spring and the gas tank. Mine is a 71, so the fuel line and sending unit are on the side...seemingly right in the way. I really don't want to have to change out the tank. Does anyone have any clear pics on this that I can take with me when I get mine done? I would greatly appreciate it! :yippee: :D

I don't have a pic, but they come towards the rear axle close together-separated by the driveshaft and a little more. They go up at this area and turn in mid air outwards, then angle back and proceed directly to the back parallel to the gas tank on each side. It is tight, but has been done many times.

What size pipes are you using. 3 inchers are very tough if possible at all. 2-2.5 is more suited for these cars.

2.5 will fit if the exhaust shop is good.

I can try and take some pic's of the 2 1/2" exhaust on my 74, but it will be tomorrow.

That would be great! I am particulary interested in the clearance between the fuel line and sending unit wire. It looks like there is plenty of room otherwise for a 2 inch pipe. I will only be using 2" id pipe as my setup is a 250 inline 6 with a dual collector header.

    Any one else?

Mine has 2.5 but i will caution, It is close and you have to use good hangers that will not let the pipe move. Mine on some occasion touches the tank but usually just on a hard launch.
