I picked up a mid 70's F250 390 4 speed. Body is quite rusty and not worth anything. The engine is the only thing I'm interested in for my old Galaxie. I would like to sell the bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, and transmission to recoup a few bucks on the purchase.
Is the truck bellhousing the same as the car one? The car bellhousings seem to be more in demand around here than for trucks, so it would make a sale quicker and more likely. Can I advertise this as fitting car and/or truck? Is the bolt pattern for the trucks trans (T-18/NP435) the same as a toploader? Planning on selling bellhousing, clutch, and flywheel together. Trans is obviously truck only so will be sold separately.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Dunno if this helps much, Hollander Interchange says they are different but no details as to what...

Problem is one of my manuals goes up to '67, the other only back to '71, so I don't really know about '68 &'69(yeah that sucks but whadya spect for $15 for both?) ... Hollander interchange number for 390 Fairlane & Mustang is 601... For full size '65 -'67 352/390/427 interchange number is 579... I kinda doubt 427 is really included as those had 11½" clutches while all 352 & 390 I've seen used a 11"...

If it helps that bell & clutch fits from '76 all the way back to '65 352/360/390, F-100/150 & 250 with 3spd, O/D & 4spd... Hollander interchange number is 574...

Thanks a lot, Tom. That helps a great deal. I don't like trying to sell something if the only reply I have to a question is a blank look and shrugging my shoulders. This info will make the future ad very clear for people. And, I won't have to give a lot of blank looks. haha. thanks again.

For an FE engine the difference between the truck and car bell housings are the overall depth or thickness. I haven't measured them for myself, but have heard that if you use a truck one with a car transmission, the input shaft will not engage deep enough in the crank shaft.
