Has anyone here ever seen a Mav/Comet with flared fenders? I was just wondering what that might look like. I was thinking about going after that 'road race' look ,and it would ease wheel/tire fittment issues. I was thinking about 'glass flares for a Mustang ,not sure what years would be best ones to start with. This is just an idea so your thoughts on matter would help .A pic would be nice. I looked into an 'Eleanor body kit but -WOW$$$$.

I've seen some cars (Mustangs mostly) that had flared fenders and thought they looked good if they were tastefully and professionally done. It takes a little more than just adding flares to do this, such as the Eleanor kit you mentioned. I've also seen some flare kits that were just so big it almost made me puke to see them ruin a nice car. I suggest looking at lots and lots of pics, ask lots and lots of questions, especially if you can talk to the owners. Maybe get the good and the bad from some of the people that have done it. I've seen a couple of pics in our forum gallery you might want to take a look at. I don't remember who they belong to so you may have to search through all the cars before you find them. The forum gallery is nice to visit anyway.

Anyway, good luck and keep us posted if you decide to go for it.

Research - thats what I am doing now. Have not found any pics. yet. It is just a thought now. If I go that route it would be done correctly and in good taste. I just want to build something different ,I guess that I am a maverick at heart. I am in no rush to get this car done ,just want it to be what I want it to be. I love seeing what others have done ,lots of talent here.

There's a picture out there somewhere of a Maverick that has had this done.

If I remember correctly, the picture was taken at a car show.

There is a guy that comes to Carlisle every year that has his flaired out. He also has some Trans Am front fender scoops molded into his front fenders and Dodge Charger tail lights.

How do I access the forum gallery? I looked at all the pics on Mav/Comet club site.
