I have a 69.5 maverick. I need front fenders, cause the front edges of mine are bashed in. I am about to go to a junkyard where there are two pairs of fenders - one pair is on a '72 Maverick, and the front tip of the fender is notched out for the valance thing. The second pair is from a 73 or later Maverick, and the fenders aren't notched, they simply have a nice curve inward where the bumper overhang should be on my 69.5.

I have read where 70-72 fenders are the same, with the notch. However, the 73-later fenders looked exactly like mine from what I remember. I don't have my car where I'm living, so I can't look, plus the whole front end was bashed, so I can't be for sure.

So my question is, are the 69.5 fenders absolutely, for sure, the same as the 70-72 fenders?

Yes they are the same, you can also use the 73 fenders if you notch them.

Or if you want uncut fenders use the 73's and notch the stone guard, much cleaner look, It's what i did (y)
