The 73 comet my father and I are restoring have pretty rough sheet metal for where the front fenders mount to the body. I was curious to see if any of you had ideas without breaking the bank and short of cutting off the front end and replacing it for what we could do to mount the fenders? :thumbs2:

How rotten are they???Since the fender apron lip is the only thing holding the fenders on the car your best bet it to repair the mounting lip.You can graft on good lips from a donor car or fab up your own its only 18 guage sheet metal the fun part is the holes for the U nuts, or just drill large holes and use nuts and bolts(you need large holes so you have some adjustment ability to line the fenders up properly when installing em)A mig welder will help too but you could (if you really have no choice) pop rivet the lip on(yuck)Hope this helps you...good luck.
