Hey folks, I have a fender dilema. I have always owned the earlier "small bumper" Mavericks. I also have always had luck in my area finding good parts. My latest project is a 70 that is in need of at least one fender. I found a later model "big bumper" car with almost perfect fenders that I can pick up cheap. Will these fenders work on mine? I imagine that they will, but as I said, I have little knowledge about the later model Mavericks. Thanks in advance to any assistance. This is a great site with great info.

Yes later fenders will work on early cars.you need to notch the fenders or the gravel pan in front though.Look at your existing fenders.Under the headlights where the gravel pan meets the fender you will see a jog in the fender for the small bumper gravel pan.The later fenders dont have this. Its not a biggie to mod the fenders or gravel pan.Check it out you will see what I mean.Good luck.

Very easy to notch the fenders. Here is a quick sketch on how to do it.

You might also have to change to a later style headlight bucket as they are different. If it has the headlight bucket....get that too.
