    I notice that a lot of the street cars have removed the charcoal canester. Can I get any feed back on this, like the does and donts.. thanks mike

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Dont remove it...Its against federal emissions laws...If you do remove it,it wont hurt anything at all. Just be certain to put some sort of filter over the steel line coming from the tank to the cannister. You dont want dirt to get in there or bugs or really tiny gremlins etc...

    It's really best to leave it on. It also may provide a teensy bit of help on the gas mileage, as it lets the engine burn off fuel vapors from the fuel tank! :)

    In addition to what they said, you might get a fuel smell from under the hood during hot weather which tends to migrate to your heater/ac air inlet. ask me how I know...
