I have pulled the trim molding off of my 73 Maverick, can anyone tell me the best way to fill in the small 1/4" size holes?
    Thanks in advance Steve.

I used a wire feed welder on some of my holes. It worked out ok but it was a sloooow process ... Cant get it too hot or you'll end up with wavey body panels ... I messed up and bought one of the cheep mig welders from home depot which is not really a mig welder because it doesnt have a gas hook up so i concider it a wire feed arc welder lol ...

Another thing i have tried is Lead .... Lead is great to work with because it required little heat ... Safety is a must when using lead, Cartridge type mask , No exposed skin .

I use lead whenever i can and it is so much faster .... Heres a great article about using lead

Just another imput.......if you use a wire feed have some one hold a flat piece of brass against the outside of the hole and weld it from the inside.........the weld will not stick to the brass and will usually leave a smooth weld on the outside.......:)

Welding is the only permanent way to do this. Most wire fed welders can be converted to gas. Spend the money and do this. Your welds will be much cleaner and you can use less heat. I have the small 120volt Lincoln welder converted to gas and it's probably the best investment I ever made.
