I had her painted 4 years ago when I graduated high school but I didnt have the money to have it color sanded and buffed. Now that I Own a detailing shop I can do it myself So far I've spent everyday this week sanding and doing a 3 step buff job. black is SO time consuming! I should have her all finished by tommorow afternoon. Then I can get the trans back in and get back to cruisin.
looks nice. will start on mine if i ever get off disability. what papre are you using, i looked at some 2000 grit yesterday at checkers. they also carry some of the maguires stuff but not what i was looking for. may go to the paint shop next week.
I used 1000 grit for the whole thing. More buffing is needed for that grit, but it does get all that orange peel off. The hardest thing about this job was keeping particles of sand off the paint while I was sanding. seems the best bet is to run water over it as your sanding. I washed and washed the car, but it seems there was always sand left behind.
Ahh yes, black, always the most beautiful color when clean and highly polished (but darn it's a magnet for dust)!!! Looks good!!! BTW, what's your polisher doing on the hood???
Is your car a black metal flake or does it just appear that way in the pictures. Looks great by the way. :bananaman :bananaman
