I own a 72 black 2 door maverick well I live in MI, addicted to my maverick. I found her in a junkyard when I was 17, and got her for free!. I signed up for auto shop and started my journey. Keep in mind I didnt know anything about cars at this time so I got alot of laughs when I told people what I was doing. The car looked so bad when I got it: orange paint, dents and dings all over. broken windshield torn up interior.drum brakes all around (4 lug). and to top it off, a straight six 200. well it's been three years now and I've spent around $5000 on her and countless hours of work. I am so proud of what I have done. and I did it all except for the painting. Right now she has a brand new 302 with a roller cam and swirl heads. An edelbrock 600 carb and street scoop air cleaner. HEI ignition system. disc brakes in ftont(5lug). (5lug) 8'' rear end. dual chrome side pipe exhaust. black vinyl seats from 60's thunderbird. and lots of other misc. things. I wen through two parts cars since: a 74 maverick 4 door. and a 76 2 door comet. I wish you guys couldve seen my classmates faces when this car was all finished. I love the looks I get from everyone. It just goes to show, if you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything! I tried to post a pic of her but I cant get it to show up?
i have a texas junkyard maverick 1972 had it a long time can you email a picture to me maybe i can post it for you like to see yours thanks
Sounds like a great project success story. It goes to show you dont have to spend mega bucks to have a sweet ride. Pictures should be less than 100k to post on the board. If you cant decrease your size, send it to me and I'd be happy to resize it for you. I'd love to see your car. Mavaholic@aol.com
Congratulations MaverickMan and welcome to the board. Would love to see some before and after pics! Rick

Looks pretty good! I'm still undecided on the wheels (or hub caps??) though. But to each his own. Welcome again, Rick
Nice Maverick! That is pretty sweet! I dig the Bonneville caps and the sidepipes. Unique touch! Well done.
I would love to go to a meet! But I live in Michigan. is there any that are a reasonable drive from here? Honestly, nothing would make me happier than to be surrounded by mavericks and thier owners. no one else in this town shares my passion
The MCCI Roundup is in New Castle, Indiana July 24 - 27. You're closer than a lot of people who make it.
your car would look good in a pic like this... this is from the last round-up.. didn't make this one, would be nice to see it in person this year
