Finally! The wait paid off! I knew if I held out long enough I'd come across some seats for free or cheap. Today I traded my poly racing buckets and the brackets I built for them for a pair of seats from a '92-3 p[lymouth laser (eclipse, talon, etc...) While I was pulling them, I thought to myself "that back seat looks reasonably close too." So I got the back seat too and I'm pretty sure I can make it fit fairly easily as well. I'm hoping to even retain the fold down rear seat! I'll post pics when I'm done. Woo-hoo! Thanks, just had to share.
Great day today. Well, I managed to find about 2 hours of spare time spread over the course of today, and I got a lot accomplished. Here's a few pics:
another we've all seen and heard how well these front seats adapt to our cars and it's true they really do go in pretty easily...
last one for now. Here's the rear seat folded down. Next step is to figure out the latches on the top and remove the bracing behind the seat without losing any strength. Then, dare I say it? Carpet!

Hey Ray....Thats going to look super when its done! I just seen a pic of your car in the "Orange Section"...it looks fantastic, I wish I could have seen it when I was down last summer....I guess I'll have to have a peek this summer when I come down...we should plan a road trip or something...just a thought

Thank everyone! Well, I didn't get much done today, only the striker for the rear seat latch on one side and I don't like the way it came out so I'll rip it back out tomorrow and start over. Grabber71- Sounds good to me. Hopefully Mine will be pretty much all together by then, although I doubt I'll be able to come up with the money for paint by then. Rudy- basically the bottom part of the rear seat is a wire frame with foam molded around it. It's pretty close to fitting to start out with. I just shoved it in, took note of where it needed to be narrowed, and knocked both sides in a bit with a soft hammer. as far as the back is concerned, it's a bit short and a bit narrow so I held it up to where it looked good with the package shelf and where it looked centered between the side panels and ran some large(3/8") sheet metal screws into the bottom hinges. There is about an inch gap on each side of the back that I'll trim out with gray carpeting. When I'm done all the fabrication, I'll replace all the sheet metal screws with nuts and bolts, welding all the nuts to the floorpan from the bottom just like the factory does.
