Just picked me up a 73 two door, built 11/1972 in Canada. It has a black package tray, (no glove box), and a black instead of color coded steering wheel/column to match the green interior. Is this normal?? All sales literature I have seen shows glove box and color coded wheel. HOWEVER, the 1973 ford repair manuals I have with diagram of 73 dash dissassembly show package tray disassembly, not glove box. I am confused because this is my first Ford and do not know where to get good interior pix of these cars. I am thinking it was an early model year change, and mine was built before that change??? I would like to know so I can restore it to proper stock original condition. Now for the parts I need: I need grille, rear bumper and valance, license plate bracket for front, almost all exterior lenses and trim. What do you have?? I need passenger side green door panel, and green armrests, green dashpad, glass, wheelcovers or hubcaps, drivers seatbelt, heater core, radio, rear window latch and a few other odds and ends. What do you have?? I am not looking to spend a TON of money, but will pay a fair price to get this car back into presentable condition and help you recycle some of that old stuff in your barn! Call me if you wish, or email... 617-442-2166, ask for Jordan
Welcome, Jordan! Welcome to the wonderful world of Mavericks and Fords! To explain your dash tray situation the explaination I would have is that your car was made right in the transition time fron the tray to glovebox and it was one of the last made with the tray (they didn't want to have lots of extra trays laying around - so they used them up. I have a 73 Owners Manual that shown the tray when I have a glovebox (early printing), so I guess we are opposites. Anyway, welcome to the board and happy Mavericking! -Corbin
