Well,I thought I did very well for the first time out this year with the new set up on the car.I had a Bi run in the semi's and on that pass, comming back the return road it started knocking oil pressure was fine @ 50lbs.But I decided to forfit the final I didnt want to break it bad.I thought it may have been a rod knocking (bearing failure) but after pulling all the caps I found nothing wrong, bearings looked great. The sound only happens at like 2500 or higher you cant hear it at 1100 rpm Idle.Im not sure I'll dig deeper later this week. All pushrods are fine also and valve retaners and locks are all in place.Oh well I guess it never ends. Oh times are 13.64 @ 96mph I need a few things like heads that arn't stock.Maybe its time for the Vic Jr's.

    Comet,

Slide under the car and check your converter bolts to make sure one of them hasn't backed out a little. I had this happen one time, and would have sworn that I had a rod knocking. It didn't do it all the time either.

Just something to check that won't cost anything.

    HTH,

    Later,

 Congrats on what sounds like a great weekend!

Sorry to hear about your troubles......keep us updated.
It sure is nice to hear other stories, when your car is in the shop and you cannot live your own stories!

*** But all the jams are painted and the car should be done with paint this weekend!

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :bananaman

Well I figured it out.It was a spun rod bearing The crank is trashed and Im sure after looking at the bearing the rod is egg shaped.Well I guess Its time to build a better engine.
I'm thinking 331 or 347 solid roller motor.

Yea I'm leaning more toward a race car in street trim.I know once the new engine gets in there, there won't be any 100 mile trips around town on the weekend.I'd like to get an honest 500 hp. N/A. out of this one.should'nt be so bad.Just $$
