Getting ready to install a 1976 c4 behind my 302...i was previously running a t5 with a 157 tooth flywheel....auto trans is a pan fill c4.. questions are...do i need a 157 or 164 tooth for this trans an also if i do need 164 will i need a different starter?...motor is an h.o. motor so i do know that i need a 50 oz imbalance.

Yep, you'll need a 164 tooth flexplate. I think the starter will work, but I'm not 100% on that, I'd try it before buying another.

AFAIK excepting for some of the small block 60s & early 70s std trans applications, all two bolt starters are same... I've even used a three bolt 390/428 std trans starter on a automatic 351, worked fine and stayed on the car for several years... Can't use reverse though as the Bendix actuator is angled wrong to fit a two bolt starter on a FE...
