floorboard fix?

    ok i was thinking about trying to fix my floor boards. There are a few small holes in in the passenger rear right behind the front seat where the persons feet would go. I coated it with some rust converter and wanted to try and bolt this stuff called lath and cover it with fiber glass. the lath is pretty sturdy and forms very well to the floor board what do you think?

    A patch like that makes a proper repair very difficult. It all has to be cut out when you decide to replace the metal with a new piece that is properly welded in place.The floor of a unibody car is a big part of the structure - it takes the loads as part of the frame. I would cut out the bad spot, grind or sand the metal bright and then weld in a proper repair patch.

    i understand what your saying i wanted to leave whatever metal that was there to maintain the structure and added the others for supports on the parts that are rusted through
