anyone attempt this or a modern style with a gasket instead of the metal trim? i love that look and figured itd be a good topic i posted it in technical because id assume its more than just cosmetic. Its supposed to cut down on drag and wind noise thoughts?
Kits are sold to make your gasketed winshield and back glass into a "glue-in" flush fit. It uses rubber foam and glue to mount the glass but still remain flexible so body twist doesn't break the glass.
PHR did a "How To" on that subject a couple years back. You might be able to find it online...It was on a Nova.

i like that alot.. still not sure how the channel the glass sits in is fabbed and how it would look from the inside
the late model trimless glass has a tinted border around the edge of the glass to hide the sealant. i wonder what the...outside glass edge...looks like on a car other than one painted black ? i to wonder about the inside appearance also. ......
It has a nice look.......BUT, I could never give up my stainless, polished trim really sets the car off, and catches the eye, IMO
Well I can understand that too. But I'm kinda o.c.d. and the fact that the frt windshield trim is stainless and the back is aluminum drives me insane. Plus I want to be different but tasteful
After straightening and buffing my aluminum trim, I had them nickel plated....wow are they ever sharp. They look just like the stainless pieces. The shop plated all 8 pieces for me for $65, not bad, considering I got rid of that "drive u nuts" anodized stuff
