    I put 5.0 moter with the 50oz. imbalance, changed the 164 tooth to a 157 tooth flywheel . now i have a wierd vibration. could i have bought the wrong flywheel? the vib is not bad . would the vib be bad if i got the 28oz. instead of the 50oz. the reason I am asking .My transmission guy said that I have the wrong flywheel. I need another opinion. please help ALex O.

    One of my driver mavs had the wrong flywheel and the guy drove it that way. I noticed it right away but he didn`t or least didn`t admit it. If it didn`t vibrate before I would call flywheel.

    What 5.0 came with a 164 tooth flywheel?

    1971 Maverick Grabber 98 DOHC Cobra engine w/5speed, 1974 Pinto 2.0 4speed daily driver.
    In a word YES. The wrong balance flywheel will cause drive-train vibration and left as is can cause bearing wear or failure and other problems.

    He is probably confusing a flywheel with a flexplate...
