I notice HR-Bob and BC-Mcdaniel said in a thread that they used stock bellhousings and stuff to mount a T5. So how does that go? I have a Toploader on a stock iron bell with 11" clutch. Car was a 3 speed, so all the linkage is stock. Is there a certain year T5 I should look for? Is there one that bolts up to all this stuff straight up? Sounds like there is an adapter plate involved??? Can I keep my Centerforce weighted clutch? Same input size and spline count on T5 as Toploader 4? I got tons of questions.... Anyone want to enlighten me? I can't believe I am even considering a T5... I haven't put 500 miles on the Toploader. Thanks Dave Edit: I know where a 93 5.0 sits in a scrap yard. What would the gears on that T5 be? I know there are various 1st gear ratios... What is a fair price for a bone stock used 93 T5?

From what I hear, T5's from '87-'93 5.0 Mustangs are the best to get for the swap. A used T5 in good working condition would be worth about 300 bucks to me. I don't know about the other stuff, I'm going with a cable clutch in my car.
There is an adaptor plate available, just about all the Mustang houses sell them. I think I paid around $120 for mine. I wanted to keep my Lakewood bellhousing. The disc spline count is the same and I'm running a CenterForce weighted clutch. Early- and mid -90s T5s are the strongest. I have the aftermarket "Z" model rated at 330 lb ft.
