im up grading to a ford 302 and wanted to see if it would be worth selling my inline 6 just want to no what kind price the engine might be worth to other people its a ford 250 inline 6 thats been pulled out of a 75 comet it has fresh gaskets, new water pump and runs really good the bad thing is that when youve been running the engine for awhile and go up a hill you can here a ticking in the engine i think its a bad lifter please give your 2 cents worth on what the engine would be worth before i think of listing it thanks.

I would think you could easily get $100-150 for it. Might solve a problem for someone with a dead motor. Not a lot of demand for old six cylinders, but you might hit the right person at the right time. The $$$$s will help fund your own car, too.

I sold my 250 about 3 years ago for $150. It's not a lot of money, but it helped with builing my 306. I probably could have gotten a little more out of it if I wanted to wait and not just take the first cash offer, but it was at a friends house and needed to go bye bye.

I had a running 250 that smoked listed on here for $50 with no interest. I ended up scrapping it

Yeah I think it mainly depends on area, around here isn't much interest in a 6cyl either...

With what you describe, I would say $100.

I ran into a guy at the parts house who needed a carb for a 250 . The rebult carb was 275.00 . He was not ready to pay that much so i told him I had one he could have for 75.00 . He had a puzzled look on his face ( like what the catch ) I told him the carb was bolted to a 250 engine and a c4 trans . Ran into him later he put the whole thing into his car.

I agree on area and luck of the draw. I could use it but am too far away as always.

List it as complete motor or parts. Carb $100, exhaust manifold $50-$75, accessories, brackets, $10 to $20 each.

    Also, list on Fordsix.com

My Stalliion needs a new motor. It is also a 250. However I have no way to get yours! Oh well, I have a solid 200 in a 72 parts car I'm getting ready.

I had a running 302 with a c4 out of a Lincoln Versailles that I sold on craigslist a couple of months ago. If I remember correctly, I was asking $300 and sold it for $250.

I can post on fordsix. There might be some bites there for the 250. If I didn't buy another 200, I would be all over this. Let me know. Or you can try over there yourself
