i have a ford 8 inch rear end ,wright now i have 3.80 gear ratio, i want more gearing ,but it seems ,that i found out there is only 4.11 and 4.62 gear ratio,s for the ford 8 inch rear end , i really wanted about a 4.30 gear... 4.62 seems too much an 4.11 not worth the time an $$ to change from my 3.80 ratio, is there any company that makes a ring an pinion in the 4.30 -4.50 ratio for the ford 8 inch rear end ,if not is there a company that can make u a costume ring and pinion ratio ??? if so who is the company an how much $$$$

If you need that much gear, you need a 9-inch rear.

I have been doing this a long time and as far as I know no one makes a 4.30 -4.50 gear ratio for an 8"..... If your willing to put a 4.50 in it, you wouldn't notice the difference in a 4.5 and a 4.62 hardly at all.....

You could either use a shorter tire with the 4:11's or a Taller tire with the 4:62's. Tire height can make a huge difference. Use a ratio calculator to figure the RPM.

With the 9 in you'll also have better choices for diff unit
    Wave trac
    S track
    Platnium track
These are the best diff anyone can get
Just as good as a locker in straight line and better then a posi or trutrac in the corners

9 in is simply stronger eve when the 8 is built to max
