Has anyone used the ford motorsport headers (shorties) on their Mav. Picked up a set of windsor jr heads and the above mentioned headers for a really good price and it looks like the headers will be to wide. Any info will be appreciated.

One more piece of info. These headers came off a Fox body mustang. Thanks

I do not know for sure........but I have been told that it won't work. A friend of mine just put a 302 roller motor in his '74 4 door maverick, and he tried to use them. I'll find out from him, just why they wouldn't work. I'll get back to you on it. Take care......Preston

Fox body Mustangs have a way wider engine compartment that we do so I would say no way they will just bolt on.

I tried a set of FOX shorties when mocking up the turbo set up. Wouldn't fit, the right way, upside down facing forward, facing rearward, right side up facing forward or backward. I ended up using a 88400 shorty that was designed for an early mustang on one side, and a homemade log manifold on the other. The other side also fit fairly well before I chopped it up.

Basically the shock tower was in the way any which way I tried it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news:rolleyes:

Robert, I'm going with the MII in my '73. This one I was asking about is for my 72. Guess I will have to find another deal on some more headers. Thanks for the info folks.

Headmon make shorties that will work. There speced for a Mustang. The outlets may or maynot need a little direction massage change depending on the application..
I have them on my EFI car with floor shift automatic..
