(includes tidbit info on other Fords and brands also)

"Nothing gave Brazilians a taste of American muscle like the Maverick. They were lucky too because consumer surveys conducted by Ford in 1970 didn't favor the V8 capable Maverick. Non-existent bumper laws kept all model years of the Mav real clean."

    Rick,

get a real job, where you don't get paid to look for Maverick videos and websites...your job looks too much like mine :evilsmile

There is some really neat info here. Like they never went to big bumpers??? How cool is that (y)

It almost sounds like the Brazilians got better cars than us...

    C'mon. I'm not THAT bad. ;)

They DID get better Mavericks IMHO. No huge bumpers like you mentioned, nice grills, I'm sure no emissions, cool consoles, side window louvers, etc. Plus, the Mavericks were true "Muscle" cars to them, not looked down on like here in the states (during that era).

city of god!!!! original name "cidade de deus"

but here is not the paradise...
    the cars are very weak...
you can be hit by a bullet at any place
ford engines are the 272/292 Y-block engines and the 302W just it
the more powerfull car we ever had was the dodge charger with 215HP
in 1972 dodge say in an AD:
"chega dessa de esportivo com menos de 200HP"
    translation:
"stop with sport cars with less than 200HP"

    our gas is a ****

    Maverick compression was veeeery low
    and many ****in things.

    I'm going to U.S.A!

Ford wouldn't do that 'cause it would have competed with the Mustang. That's why Mavs never came with 4 bbl carbs, 4-speeds or dual exhausts.
