I have been thinking about doing a manual transmission swap and was trying to find out everything that would have to be done to my 69 c4 column shifter maverick. And also what are the most likely vehicles that i would find a toploader and clutch petal assembly of this purpose

Is there other pedal assembly that can be used for the swap? and what other cars are the toploaders in that have the correct output shaft langth?

The Toploader is smaller than a C4

I had some clearence problems with my linkage rods but I tweaked the crossmember and the upper cross brace and all was well.

I'm also using a Hurst V-Gate shifter and that may be a problem only to that shifter.

how much harder is it to get the clutch installed isn't it hydraulic? and what about the drive shaft can you find one with the correct length without having it cut and rebalanced

I originally swapped a toploader in place of my C4. It was definitely fun to drive.

I still have all my four speed stuff that I will not be putting back since I am going to use a TKO instead. PM me if you want to stop by and look at what I have (and possibly take it home). Im over on the eastern shore. You can't beat free shipping. :thumbs2:

Thomas, your 72 may be fine as it has the larger tunnel - the 69.5/70 Mavericks had the smallest transmission tunnels. :)
